How Privacy.com saved me $28k

I have been happily using Privacy.com for the past 4 years or so and I am always sharing it with friends and family. Here are several reasons that I love this great privacy tool.

• I never need to share my primary debit card
• I can control how much each card is authorized for
• I no longer get stuck in subscriptions after a Free Trial period ends
• As a Pro member, I enjoy receiving 1% cash back on all purchases
• I can pause a card if my funding account is low to avoid NSF fees

This past week, I encountered a new reason to love Privacy.com On December 10, 2023, at 10:10PM I received a transaction decline notification on one of my cards. It was in the amount of $26,855.93 which I had never authorized. It happened to be on a card which I had set the purchase limit to only $10 per month.

This could have been a far worse problem, had that transaction been charged to my primary debit card and checking account. Because I was using Privacy.com, all of the hassle of contacting my bank fraud department, signing an affidavit stating I did not authorize the charge, and having my debit card canceled/reissued was avoided. This is yet another great reason I recommend Privacy.com to people all of the time and will continue to do so. You should check it out!
