Manual Metadata Extraction

Did you know that you can unzip a file by changing the file extension?
I recently learned that you can extract additional information from files with the .pptx, .docx and .xlsx
These are the steps:
- Download the desired file in one of the mentioned formats.
- Rename the file, by simply changing the extension to a .zip format.
- Extract the file
Note: If you are using MacOS, the default archive tool will not work, you must use a third part tool, such as The Unarchiver app.
You will now see a new directory containing several files, each of which are components of the original file. These individual files can now be examined further.
I also attempted to use the same process on a .ppt file. Although I was able to extract the zipped file, the individual files were not accessible.
