OSINT Academy Week 7

This week we covered various types of analysis.

• CARA Analysis (Characterstics, Associations, Reputation and Affiliations)
• SWOT Analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses Opportunities and Threats)
• Value Chain Analysis
• Supply Chain Analysis

Much of this week I learned about the vast amount of public records that can be researched to uncover vital information in an OSINT investigation. My task was to put together a clean report using the various resources outlined in the weeks lesson.

I was given a target and had to perform my due diligence to locate all pertinent information regarding his background. To do this, I first focused on my targets characteristics, such as his professional ranking, involvement in lawsuits, criminal convictions, or rewards.

Next, I looked at his personal and professional associations, friends, family and colleges. Followed by his personal reputation and affiliations, such as board memberships, etc.

This course taught me how to organize all of this information, including screenshots and proper resource citations. It was a very productive week and I really learned a lot!
