Publishing your first video
If you are passionate about technology like I am, you want to share with the community. But, what if you are an introvert, shy, or just not good at public speaking? How do you overcome the fear of stepping out of your comfort zone?
I have heard people say that the best way to overcome fear, is by practicing. So I decided to start sharing content. My goal in creating a YouTube channel is simply to help others learn more about technology. I have no desire to one day become popular, I just want to help people. I enjoy speaking to people about technology, especially when I can share something that may help them. When I am in a conversation and the person mentions an issue that they are having, I immediately try to think of a technology solution that may help them. I get excited if I can think of a way that will help them become more successful using technology.
Issues I am working through
- Speaking louder and more clearly (I need to purchase a good microphone also)
- Not speeding through my content
- Not freaking out when there is a few seconds of silence while I gather my thoughts
- Better lighting and camera
- Better content preparation
- Not being nervous in general
I launched a YouTube channel called "TLDRcyber" with the goal of providing clear, concise, and easy-to-understand content. The name reflects the channel's focus on simplifying complex topics. My videos will include bullet points, code snippets, and straightforward explanations to help viewers quickly apply what they're learning.
I taught myself how to use OBS Studio which is an amazing FREE tool you should check out. If you have any questions, please reach out and I will gladly share what I have learned so far. I created my first video and uploaded it to YouTube. I am nervous about sharing it because I know that it needs a lot of improvement, but I also know that there are a lot of people out there who also want to share what it is they are passionate about, but they are afraid. So here is my first video, just 16 minutes long. If you are on the fence about creating some videos to share with the community, just do it! We can all learn from each other, and encourage one another.
