Revisiting 2024 Goals

A friend recently asked me about the status of my 2024 goals. He asked if I had ever written about the successes I had in achieving them. I hadn't realized it until then, but I never wrote and end of 2024 post updating my goals.
Here are the goals that I set for myself at the beginning of 2024:
- Make lasting memories with my family
- I would say that I succeeded in this and have archived a ton of photos to prove it.
- Visit two new destinations with my wife
- Unfortunately, I had open heart surgery in February 2024, so things were tough.
- Obtain my CompTIA Security+ Certification
- I achieved this in July 2024
- Obtain my CompTIA CySA+ Certification
- I achieved this in January 2025 (better late than never)
- Obtain my CompTIA Linux+ Certification
- I decided not to pursue this after all
- Volunteer to help 50 people learn to use a secure password manager
- Unfortunately, some people struggle with understanding the need and find it difficult.
- Build a strong network on LinkedIn
- I am appreciative of the network I have built and enjoy engaging with so many great people.
- Build a strong network on Twitter
- I have been focusing my time on other platforms
- Learn to become proficient with Kali Linux
- I have increased my proficiency slightly
- Learn to become proficient with the Metasploit framework
- Just minor improvement in proficiency
- Volunteer to help 50 people establish their digital assets plan
- I did not achieve this goal, but have organized my digital assets and made sure my family knows where everything is located and how to access it. I have spoken with my family and others about having a plan, but sadly many people don't choose to make it a priority. I will keep trying to help them.
What is in store for 2025?
