Bridging the Gap: An OSINT Guide Tailored for Private Investigators

Bridging the Gap: An OSINT Guide Tailored for Private Investigators

I recently obtained my Private Investigator license and formed my own agency. I did this for a few reasons. I wanted to take advantage of my years of Law Enforcement experience, provide my family with an additional stream of potential income and add another skillset to compliment my role as an OSINT Analyst.

I have come to realize that there are many great Private Investigators around the country. Some of these skilled investigators are amazing in the field, but lack some skills related to digital investigations.

I had already been planning to create an OSINT guide for those new to the field. I decided to specifically focus on a guide that would help Private Investigators who want to level up their skillset related to digital investigations.

As I began creating this guide, I started to think that I could possibly monetize this, partly because I recently lost my job and could use a little supplemental income. If you know me, you know that this is a very uncomfortable area for me. I have always enjoyed providing others with helpful info, free of charge, because I genuinely enjoy helping others become more successful. I get excited when someone tells me about a problem they are struggling with, and I know of a great solution. This is partly why I am continuously learning and trying new things, then storing them away in my head, hoping I can share it with someone who finds it helpful. Also, I am just a curious person by nature, and have been since I was a kid.

After creating my guide, I sent it to a few friends for feedback. I am always open to constructive criticism, so I can grow. After receiving feedback, I expanded this guide from 69 to 91 pages. I added this guide to Gumroad in PDF, epub and markdown formats. I did some research as to the value of the 91 page guide and landed on $29. I think this is a fair amount, though I still struggle with charging for my content.

If you are new the area of OSINT and are looking for a guide that you can reference for example of methodologies and pivoting processes, I think you will find this helpful. This is NOT for experienced OSINT practitioners.

If you decide to purchase this guide and find it helpful, please recommend it to a friend or colleague. If you are just getting started in OSINT or can't afford to purchase, please email me for a FREE copy.
